Academics

Today we live in a world that is so very different from the one our elders lived or grew and got educated. Today the world is changing at such an accelerated rate that we as educators need to pause and think over this entire system of education.

Our school is well equipped to prepare our children to face all the challenges and hence we at DES primary section work at implementing a well – balanced curriculum to see that the children who walk into the portals of our school will not only love their school life but also get prepared to face life’s challenges. We think of how to engage them and hold their attention andalso make sure that they actually absorb the topics taught. With this in our mind we continuously upgrade our teaching tools and techniques as well as our academic programmes. In a, technology prevalent world today, we appeal to young minds by in co-operating smart boards (e-learning). We not only march our students towards technology and globalization, but also towards moral values and principles. We help them to grow and develop into sensitive and responsible citizen of next generation. We also focus on a curriculum that is inclusive yet complete enough to nurture individual skills and capabilities. We guide our children to appear all the external exams such as NCO,NSO,IMO,NELTAS etc.

We follow a house system where students are allotted houses and in house competitions are held such as story- telling, recitation, etc. which develops a team spirit at the same time motivates them to work and excel in each activity.

COMMUNITY SERVICE :- As it is very rightly said “Be the change you want to see in the world.”We DES primary section took up this programme of MAKE IN INDIA. We have taken up an oath that we shall never buy Chinese products and support India to become financiallystrong . To curb the e-waste that is been dumped in the surrounding. Our school undertook a project of collecting all the e-waste of Pune city and sending it for recycling.

PROJECT :-Project is an integral part of the school curriculum. Every year we have annual educational projects which are thematic and is a unique feature of the school.

ANNUAL GATHERING/ PARIPATH :- Along with academics emphasis is laid on moral values by havingParipaths, assemblies, celebrations of festivals. Our school carries out the most important responsibility of imbibing Indian culture in students by celebrating various festivals in school. Students are acquainted with Indian culture with the help of stories, plays, songs etc. This not only educates the children but also develops the various qualities of leadership, stage daring, acting etc. We also see that each and every child participates in all the activities done in school.

SPORTS :- Our school has been blessed with a large playground and the students have been benefited and have excelled in interschool games like Dodgeball, Langadi, Athletics, Kho-Kho etc. It is aptly said sound mind in a sound body. This is ensured by making games compulsory for all the students. This year, we are conducting various games and activities to inculcate sportsmanship , physical fitness which is definitely going to help the students who have inherent talent and skills of the same. Annual sports is a regular feature and an important co-curricular activity of the school. Our school hosts interschool sports competitions every year.

TRIPS :– Our school organizes educational visits and treks as we believe that learners learn by their own experience and maximum exposure can be gained only by being a part of it.
