The Breast Cancer Awareness Exhibition

The Breast Cancer Awareness Exhibition offered a diverse array of educational resources, including informative charts, anatomical models, informational posters, educational videos, engaging presentations, live demonstrations, and interactive games.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore the latest statistics related to breast cancer, gain insights into its causes and risk factors, learn to recognize signs and symptoms, and delve into the various stages, diagnostic procedures, and treatment options available. Furthermore, common misconceptions were dispelled, and avenues for connecting with support groups were made accessible.The inauguration of this pivotal event was done by Dr. Swati Jogalekar, Vice Principal of Fergusson College, Pune. Dr.Shikha Jain Director IMDR, Pune added her distinguished presence of this gathering.


World Heart Day

The D.E.Society's Brijlal Jindal College of Physiotherapy created awareness about basic life saving skills by giving live demonstrations of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at various sites in the Fergusson College Campus. Little Annie, the college's CPR model was shown at IMDR, the open air theatre Kimaya, the media dept and the physiotherapy OPD, where the procedure was explained and performed by the faculty, Shreya Dhake, Aditi Berry and Aditi Soman, and postgraduate students of the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy dept. The programme was well appreciated by the viewers, with IMDR's Director giving special praise for it.


Ganpati Idol making with grandparents

On the occasion of Grandparents Day , DES Pre Primary Murlidhar Lohia Matrumandir students celebrated in a very unique way. Students made Ganapati idols with their grandparents in the Sarasbaug temple (Talyatla Ganapati) . Teachers conducted laughter club activity for the grand parents and students in which 300 grandparents participated. All were very enthusiastic. Students recited Atharwa shirsh followed by Ganapati Arti. It was really wonderful Sunday morning for all of us.


Coins and Stamps exhibition

Coins were introduced as a method of payment around the 5th or 6h century BCE. Coins are the major archaeological source of history. These small coins have a lot to portray.   

An exhibition of such stamps and coins was arranged at DES Secondary School on account of ‘World Philatelic Day’. The inauguration of the same was held on 11th October 2023 in the school. Mr. Rippan Dullet, Senior Superintendent of Post Office, Pune City graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. Purnapatre, Mr. Avate, Mr. Mudholkar were also present.  Smt. Archana Dhanawade, HM Primary School, Mrs. Vijaya Joshi – Head Mistress Secondary School, Smt. Laxmi Mallepati, Supervisor Secondary School were present for the programme. Students from all standards visited the exhibition. The exhibition was held for the three days from 11th October to 13th October 2023.
