DES's Fergusson College Alumnus Aaron D'Souza Earns BAFTA Student Awards Nomination for "Carolyn"

Aaron D'Souza, an alumnus of Fergusson College's Department of Media and Communication (B. Voc), has achieved a remarkable feat with his short film "Carolyn" being nominated for the prestigious British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) in the UGO BAFTA Student Awards. After completing his undergraduate studies here, Aaron pursued a master's degree in film editing at the American Film Institute. As part of his coursework, he edited "Carolyn," which was selected from 800 submissions across 37 countries and will now compete in the "Live Action" category. The winners will be announced on July 12. Fergusson College is proud of Aaron's outstanding accomplishment and wishes him continued success.

Fergusson College annual magazine MADHYAM is awarded Third rank by Savitribai Phule Pune University today

We are proud to announce that DES's Fergusson College's annual magazine, Madhyam, has been awarded Third Prize by the Student's Welfare Section of Savitribai Phule Pune University for the 2020-21 issue. Madhyam is a prestigious publication showcasing the academic achievements, creative writing, and artistic expressions of our students and staff in six languages: Marathi, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, French, and German. BMCC Student Richa Chordia Shines at All-India University Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition

DES's BMCC student, Richa Chordia, pursuing M.Com II, recently participated in the All-India University Rhythmic Gymnastics competition held in Amritsar from March 18th to 23rd. We are proud to announce that Richa showcased exceptional talent and secured 1 Gold and 1 Silver medal, outshining competitors from all corners of the nation.

This remarkable achievement not only highlights Richa's dedication and hard work but also serves as a testament to BMCC's commitment to nurturing excellence not just in academics, but also in sports. Fergusson College's Khushi Marches to Glory, Wins Best NCC Cadet Award at Republic Day Parade!

Khushi, a second-year BSc student at Fergusson College, Pune, emerged as the top all-India senior girls' NCC cadet at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. Her journey towards this achievement began with a transformative encounter with fighter pilots at Naval Air Station four years ago. Inspired by that experience, Khushi, daughter of a retired Master Chief Petty Officer from the Indian Navy, aspired to become a fighter pilot herself. Joining the NCC to pursue her dream, Khushi's dedication and understanding of aviation and NCC training led her to excel, earning her the title of the best NCC girl cadet.

Heartiest congratulations to Juned Bargir, a talented student pursuing XII from Chintamanrao College Of Commerce, Sangli for his remarkable achievement in the field of Wushu. Juned has brought immense pride to our institution by securing the Gold Medal in the 75 kg weight category at the prestigious State Level Wushu Competition held in Amravati on 26th October 2023. His exceptional performance in the Mixed Martial Arts Event is a clear demonstration of his unwavering dedication and hard work.

Young Gymnast Richa Chordia Shines at 37th National Games in Goa, Securing Gold and Bronze Medals.

Richa Chordia, an accomplished student pursuing her M. Com. Part II at BMCC, made the nation proud by securing an impressive achievement in Rhythmic Gymnastics.Her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport were brilliantly showcased as she triumphed, earning 1 Gold and 2 Bronze medals, at the 37th National Games in Goa.
