Geeta Ganpat Dhanawade: Rising Star of Maharashtra Bound for ISRO's 'Yuvika 2024' Training Program

Geeta Ganpat Dhanawade, a ninth-grade student from Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar Guruji Secondary School, has earned a coveted spot in ISRO's "Yuvika 2024" training program.

Her remarkable achievement includes ranking 6th nationwide in ISRO's rigorous online examination. Among the three individuals selected from Maharashtra, Geeta stands out for her outstanding performance in online exams, her active participation in NCC, her success as a district-level boxing champion, and her victories in national-level science exhibitions and state-level Olympiads.

Geeta has been allocated the Space Application Centre (SAC) in Ahmedabad for her ISRO training, scheduled for May 12 to May 25, 2024. ISRO will cover all expenses, including training, travel, and accommodation in Ahmedabad.

Geeta's selection for this prestigious program not only highlights her academic excellence but also underscores her diverse talents and achievements. Her upcoming training promises to be a transformative experience, providing invaluable insights into space applications and fostering her potential to contribute significantly to the field of space exploration.

In a short span of time, Sohaart has amassed an impressive collection of medals and certificates, symbolizing his outstanding achievements in various competitive events. Notably, he secured the State Level 50-meter Breaststroke Silver Medal and the State Level 50-meter Backstroke Bronze Medal, demonstrating his prowess across different swimming styles.

Sohaart's journey serves as an inspiration to young athletes everywhere, proving that with passion, hard work, and relentless perseverance, one can achieve remarkable success. Abhalmaya Shines at 20th Maharashtra State Children's Drama Competition.

The 20th Maharashtra State Children's Drama Competition, held at Yashwantrao Chavan Theatre, Beed from March 5th to 10th, 2024, was a vibrant celebration of youthful talent. A total of 24 plays made it to the final round, showcasing the dedication and creativity of young actors and directors.

"Abhalmaya," a captivating play presented by DES's New English School Ramanbaug, Pune, emerged victorious, bagging the coveted first prize. The play's director, Ravindra Satpute, further added to the triumph by receiving the second prize for direction. Nikhil Marne's exceptional lighting design for "Abhalmaya" secured him the top prize in the Prakash Yojana category. Jayant Tole's meticulous work on the backstage setup, also for "Abhalmaya," was recognized with the first prize for Nepathya. Pratyush Mahamuni, with his phenomenal performance in "Abhalmaya," took home the Best Acting Silver Medal (Male).

The competition showcased the diverse talents of Maharashtra's young dramatists, including numerous plays, directors, actors, and technical teams. The event concluded with a sense of accomplishment and hope, as Principal Secretary of Cultural Affairs Department Shri. Vikas Kharge and Minister of Cultural Affairs Shri. Sudhir Mungantiwar congratulated the winners, expressing their belief in their continued success.

Embracing Excellence: New English School, Ramanbaug, Pune, Shines in "Mukhyamantri Mazi Shala Sundar Shala" Campaign

D.E.S's New English School, Ramanbaug, Pune received third position with 11 lakhs cash prize in the A and B municipal areas in the state in "Mukhyamantri Mazi Shala Sundar Shala" Campaign organized by Maharashtra Government.

Maharashtra State honorable Minister of Education,  Shri Deepakji Kesarkar presented the award ceremony in Mumbai. This time, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri. Eknathrao Shinde congratulated everyone. Hon'ble Shri Rawat Sir, Chairman, Council & Governing Body of DES, Mr. Kulkarni Sir Secretary, DES Pune lauded Ramanbaug School for its success. It became a milestone in the field of Education in Maharashtra.

Roller Skating Champions: Tanvi Gambhire & Ovi Pukale Shine at NEMS School

Celebrating the exceptional achievements of our talented students, Tanvi Gambhire and Ovi Pukale, from the 3rd Standard Lotus Class at New English Medium School (Primary Unit) . Tanvi, a dedicated skater since 2021, has consistently excelled in various competitions, securing notable victories like 1st Place in Panther Skating Championship (2021) and recently earning 2 Golds in the 11th RGOI Maharashtra State Roller Skating Championship, 2023-24.

Ovi Pukale, has also showcased remarkable prowess in skating since 2022. Notable achievements include a 3rd Place in the Invitational Inter-club Roller Skating Championship (2024) and securing 2nd Place in the 2nd Ultimate Speed Skating Championship (2023). Ovi's dedication earned her selection for the 11th RGOI National Roller Skating Championship, 2023-24, where she clinched 2 Bronze medals.

A player from Hindustan Antibiotics School (Primary Unit) glorified the school's name with a resounding victory at the recent National Karate Championship held at Dehu.Gold medallists include Riddhi Valunj, Aarav Gange, and Krishna Bhosale, while recipients of the Roppe Medal are Ishan Wadkar, Siddhi Walunj, Prashant Kharat, Shaurya Samose, and Anvit Utpat. Additionally, Veera Garg and Suraj Sakat secured bronze medals.All players were honoured by the school Head Mistress, Ms. Surekha Jadhav, along with co-teachers Ms. Archana Gore and Dr. Vitthal More. Hindustan Antibiotics School, Primary unit's grand play "Shivba Zale Raje" has been listed in the International Genius World Book of Records.

The play, marking the 350th anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Shivarajyabhishek, was organized by Hindustan Antibiotics School, managed by the Deccan Education Society. Under the guidance of Head Mistress Surekha Jadhav madam and support from Khemraj Ranpise sir and Milind Kamble sir, teachers, and staff, 400 children depicted Shivaji Maharaj's journey from pre-birth Maharashtra to Shivarajyabhishek. DES’S president Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj graced the event. Notable figures like D.E.S’s chairman Pramod Rawat, Vice chairman Adv.Ashok Palande, Secretary Dhananjay Kulkarni, Niraja Saraf, and actor Milind Sangwar attended the event. Lavanya Karade from Navin Marathi Shala, Pune showcased remarkable talent at the Asian Open Schools Invitational Swimming Championships 2024 Bangkok.She secured a Gold in the 100m Butterfly, a Silver in the 400m Freestyle, and Bronzes in both the 800m Freestyle and the 100m Freestyle events. Lavanya's prowess extended to the 50m Butterfly, where she earned another Bronze.

Lavanya's achievements culminated in her being awarded the prestigious title of Individual 2nd Runner-Up, along with the Championship Trophy. Atharv received an honorific trophy for this outstanding achievement.
